This nuno felt scarf is created in a classical way. Firstly, on a pad of bubble wrap lays the properly cut piece of FLYFEL®-web: a little bit narrower than the scarf for a nice light and clean rolled edge and about 10-20cm longer at the ends for the fringes.
Put the chiffon scarf on that and sprinkle with soapy water section by section (works great with a hand brush). Then carefully start rubbing, pushing and beating the surface with your hands, later applying more pressure. The superfine merino wool fibers quickly start to ''wander'' through the silk and as soon as both layers have connected you can start to roll up and full the piece. The scarf can also be tightly rolled up between foil and towels and be felted in the dryer.
If the desired tightness is reached, the soapy water can be washed out and possible left overs can be neutralized with some vinegar.
In order to be able to spray the scarf equally, it should be ironed after washing. The fringes can be cut in shape after felting.
The monstera leaves of the scarf were cut out of thicker paper in negative form; but customary stencils and real leaves can also be used. Now fill the ideen funpump bottles with fabric or silk paint in two different shades of green and freely start spraying around! A high pressure results in a finer spray and lower pressure creates coarser speckles. Uneven strength of coating let the motive appear more vividly. As the icing on the cake add some effects with coarse speckles and a soft contouring of the leaves with a brush and paint. After drying, fix the color as described in the manufacturers instructions. Finished!
Both the side with the chiffon layer as well as the bottom with the FLYFEL®-web can be designed or sprayed in this way.
