This is the lightest quality among the Crêpe de Chine fabrics. Fine Crêpe silks are similar to strong Pongés in their look. Therefore, Crêpe de Chine 08 can also casually be referred to as a " luxurious Pongé 08". It has a smooth surface and shows an elegant shimmer, due to fine highlights. Shine, grip and fall are the main points that distinguish Pongé 08 from Crêpe de Chine 08. Crêpe de Chine 08 has an especially soft fall and feels very comfortable. In addition, Crêpe de Chine is also extremely wrinkle resistant due to its elastic yarns. This silk is especially well suitable for light blouses and tunics and is a wonderful base for all kinds of silk painting and tie-dyeing.
 

Here is an example for using a wax technique. The bolt twines were applied with a bristle brush, onto a silk that was primed with a pastel color. Afterward, the created areas were painted over with concentrated silk paint.

For this design example the very popular wax technique was used. This time not on stretched but on a piece folded into a quarter of the original size. The fabric was heavily crumbled up, in order to brake up the dried wax and create the typical fine cracks. The whole piece was fixed in the mircowave while still moist.
