For this example a bold motive of flourishes of transparent gutta is applied to the stretched white gauze. Afterwards the resulting enclosed spaces are painted over with steam fixable silk colour of harmonising shades. Both layers quickly connect entirely and the motif appears to be painted directly on the wool.
