A beautiful idea for quick nuno-felt scarves: finely divided strands of FLYFEL®-tops are used like a very thick thread with a large needle and pulled through the silk fabric with coarse stitches. The wool may protrude a view centimetres at the end to create nice fringes.

During the subsequent felting process the merino wool quickly begins to shrink, felts together with the silk, and finely pleats the fabric. Stitches or holes that may have been created will not bee seen after felting, so you do not have to be very careful when threading the wool.

For the example shown here a silk scarf with a slightly bark-like texture was chosen. This texture is nicely accentuated by the crinkle effect that automatically arises when felting.
