A light summery Georgette with a fancy crinkle pattern.
This pattern is not worked only parallel and lengthwise, but also in direction of the weft.
This makes for a bark-like crepe appearance, which is slightly reminiscent of a tree bark structure.
If the silk is ironed, the structure has a very subtle appearance, but if it is left to dry by itself or dried in a laundry dryer, the bark-like look becomes more apparent.

This is an example for really simple tone-in-tone dyeing. Further information about this technique can be found

The piece in this example was laid on a plastic sheet, moistened slightly, pushed together, and sprinkled with silk colours of varied hues of pink. While drying, the dyes self-actingly bleed into each other and thereby create intriguing colour gradients and patterns.
The bark-like structure becomes especially prominent, if the item is moistened once again after fixing, and finally dried in a laundry dryer.

Here a delicate pattern was applied onto stretched silk with
J00044.html">transparent Gutta and the created color fields were filled in, using harmonic shades of paint.
After fixing, the fabric was washed, ironed dry and just slightly steamed. That is the reason why this pattern does not show such a dominant Crępe structure.
