Dobby Etamine 8.5

The word "Dobby" describes a shaft binding. This fabric was therefore created in a shaft binding, out of smooth threads with a pretty shine, in the usual excellent weaving quality. No matter from which side the silk is looked at, the fine diagonal pattern is still visible but it is much more fascinating and delicate then a simple twill. This is an example for using the wax technique. The etamine was first primed in pastel colors, then a reserving layer of wax was generously applied, using a wide bristle brush. Followed by a second color layer in the same shades as the prime layer but in a higher concentration. That is how a harmonic overall picture with a discreet block pattern is created.
