Pongee 08 is just as versatile as Pongee 05, but is
woven with thicker yarn and therefore has a firmer feel and increased stability. The colours shine very intensely and the greater opaqueness make Pongee 08 especially interesting for designers and tailors. It can easily be sewn up and enhance any piece of clothing as a light lining silk.
Nuno-felting is also possible with this silk, but it requires a little more patience than with Gauze 3,5 and Pongee 05, because the wool fiber requires more time to permeate the fabric.
Brightly coloured pongee silks can additionally be cross-dyed or painted on. When doing so, please observe the ground colour, because the applied colours blend with it. Darkly coloured silks can be partially discoloured and patterned with light on dark using brushes, stamps or templates.
