Here you can see an example for using the wax technique. In this case, the background was first colored with diluted paint. After drying, hot wax was boldly applied, using a tjanting tool. After a second color application, certain areas were accentuated with darker paint, for an expressive depth effect.

For this expressive motif, bold twirls were painted onto the stretched Silk by using transparent Gutta. The background was painted in plain black and the single circles were water-colored in harmonic colors.
